Check site for dates and times Everybody loves a good story. Now imagine myriad stories, plus legends and rhymes, embellished with amazing creativity through a half-million holiday lights! During this year’s Dominion Energy GardenFest of Lights, Naturally Ever After presents Stories in Lights: from fairy tales and folklore to time-treasured classics. Indoor and outdoor displays, family activities and holiday events spotlight tales that span cultures and time … explore natural phenomena … teach life lessons … celebrate the seasons … and ultimately, connect people through plants.

Nov. 24, doors open at 4 p.m.: Dominion Energy GardenFest of Lights Illumination — We’ll kick off the GardenFest holiday tradition with a countdown to flipping the switch on more than half-a-million twinkling lights. After the illumination, stroll through the Garden alight with sparkling radiance and featuring this year’s theme. See website for schedule of events.
Nov. 27, 28, 29, 30, 2017; Jan. 8, 2018: Member & Volunteer Nights with free admission for members and volunteers Learn about becoming a Garden Member, it may be your best value.
Thursday, Nov. 30, 2017 & Thursday, Jan. 4, 2018: GardenFest for Fidos, leashed pets allowed on these two night only
Sunday, Dec. 31, 2 – 5 p.m. New Year’s Eve Family Frolic: Live music with the “Ululating Mummies,” take photos with the GardenKeeper, make a party hat and “roll in the New Year” with the annual hillside tumble (weather permitting.)
Merry Mondays: Storytime fireside with the Garden Keeper. “Santa sightings” in the Conservatory (Mondays, 6 – 8 p.m. through Dec. 18), 5 – 8 p.m. Location: Library Reading Room.
Caroling Tuesdays: Holiday caroling throughout the Garden 6:30 – 8 p.m. Tuesdays.
Crafty Wednesdays: Families make theme-inspired crafts with staff & volunteers. 5 – 8 p.m. in the Kelly Education Center, Classroom 1 (across from the train room).
