JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - Sebagai pemilik mobil, perawatan terhadap kendaraan perlu diperhatikan untuk menunjang keselamatan dan kenyamanan dalam berkendara. Salah satu bagian yang perlu diperhatikan untuk perawatan yakni bagian kaki-kaki mobil.
Secara garis besar, ada dua jenis perawatan yang lazim dilakukan pemilik mobiil supaya jalan kendaraannya aman dan nyaman. Keduanya berhubungan dengan stabilitas mobil saat berjalan.
Spooring danbalancing merupakan salah satu perawatan kaki-kaki mobil agar lebih nyaman untuk dikemudikan. Selain itu spooring dan balancing juga diperlukan agar handling mobil terjaga.
Ternyata masih banyak orang yang belum paham mengenai perbedaan spooring dan balancing. Padahal keduanya merupakan hal berbeda meskipun fungsinya sama-sama untuk menstabilkan roda dan kaki-kaki mobil.
Dealer Technical Support Dept. Head PT TAM Didi Ahadi, mengatakan, spooring dan balancing merupakan dua hal yang berbeda, namun tujuannya sama yakni menstabilkan roda dan kaki-kaki mobil.

"Ada bedanya sporing sama balancing, Spooring itu proses pelurusan kembali kedudukan empat roda mobil seperti awal, sedangkan balancing menyeimbangkan keempat roda agar putarannya menjadi seimbang," kata Didi kepad Kompas.com belum lama ini.
Ada beberapa indikasi yang dapat dirasakan oleh pengemudi jika mobil sudah mulai harus dilakukan spooring atau balancing. Tanda tersbut bisa dirasakan pada saat mobil dibawa jalan atau dikendarai.
"Kalau balancing itu tandanya ada getaran di ban, itu biasanya berasa kalau mobil melaju dengan kecepatan tinggi. Pada saat mobil melaju di atas kecepatan 80 km/jam bisa dirasakan setir bergetar maka perlu dilakukan balancing," ucap Didi.
Sementara untuk spooring beda lagi ciri yang akan dirasakan oleh pengemudi. Spooring dilakukan ketika ban tidak lagi lurus meskipun stir telah lurus. Ban bisa berbelok ke kanan atau ke kiri sendiri tanpa di belokkan.

"Kalau spooring tandanya pada saat mobil posisi stirnya lurus kemudian lepas setir, mobil bisa berbelok sendiri ke kanan atau ke kiri. Nah itu saatnya mobil haus di spooring," ucap Didi.
Didi menjelaskan, spooring dan balancing juga harus dilakukan oleh pemilik mobil sebagai salah satu perawatan terhadap mobil. Menurut Didi, idealnya proses balancing sebaiknya dilakukan setiap 10.000 sekali atau setiap enam bulan sekali.
Sedangkan untuk melakukan spooring, sebaiknya dilakukan spooring ketika ada keluhan tentang spooring pada mobil. Segera lakukan spooring agar kondisi mobil tetap prima sehingga keamanan pengemudi dan penumpang lebih terjaga.
