Aubrey Plaza is headed to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and — in news that feels directly lifted from plenty of queer fans’ vision boards — she might be playing Kathryn Hahn’s ex.

Plaza is set to appear in the upcoming Disney+ show Agatha: Coven of Chaos, a WandaVision spin-off centering on Hahn’s witchy fan-favorite Agatha Harkness. So far, who exactly she’s playing has been kept closely under wraps.

However, Twitter user @CanWeGetSomeToast, who’s known for breaking Marvel leaks, recently claimed that Plaza, who is bisexual, will be playing “Rio Vidal… The FIRST Green Witch and Agatha’s Ex.”

Although viewers will have to wait for official confirmation about who the White Lotus star is playing in the series, some queer chaos would be extremely welcome in the overwhelmingly sexless, heterosexual landscape of the MCU. Tom Hiddleston’s Loki technically became the franchise’s first queer lead in his 2021 eponymous series, when he responded to another character’s curiosity about his love life by saying that he’s into “a little bit of both.”

After that one-line revelation, Brian Tyree Henry played Phastos, a gay superhero who shared an onscreen kiss with his husband (played by out, gay Lebanese actor Haaz Sleiman) in 2021’s Eternals. However, the movie does also imply that Phastos inadvertently laid the groundwork for the bombing of Hiroshima, so it’s complicated!

Regardless of who Plaza ends up playing in Agatha: Coven of Chaos, at least there are hints that it’ll be a fun time for the gays — apart from the slim possibility that it could gift us with an “Agatha All Along” reprise. While Hahn and Plaza are certainly beloved in the LGBTQ+ community themselves, the show’s stacked cast also includes Heartstopper breakout Joe Locke and the one and only Patti Lupone. Some magical sapphic drama would be the cherry on top!
